Village churches

19 beautiful churches
The region has no less than 19 beautiful churches each with their own distinctive character. The churches, dispersed like a string of pearls throughout the landscape, are all worth a visit. Several of the churches have belonged to Sorø Academy, and many were built by the White-family.

Both Bjernede Church, which is Zealand’s only round church, and Fjenneslev Church, with its two towers and also Broby Church with its unique chalk paintings are all examples of churches built by the White-family.
